St. Petersburg (day 2)

St. Petersburg, Russia - Day 2
So glad that we could get through customs to explore the city on both days since we did not have Russian visa… 
Loved the the royal palaces, the magnificent churches, and the splendid museums here!

Trying the metro system

Saint Petersburg has many colored bridges. This is the Red one

St. Isaac’s Cathedral - This gold-domed, ornate, 19th-century cathedral is the third largest domed cathedral in the world, and offers visitors a 300-step climb to a spectacular view of the city



St. Nicholas Naval Cathedral is a major Baroque Orthodox cathedral in the western part of the city

The interior is adorned with incredibly detailed mosaic icons, paintings and columns made of malachite and lapis lazuli.
